Fender Japan Standard Telecaster Black 2008
Fender Japan Standard Tele, black, 2007-10. The Japan Standard series ran for several decades and sold exclusively on the domestic Japan market. It's similar to the 1962 reissue model Teles, but with a more modern 250mm radius, the 90s era decal, a top loader bridge and an option for rosewood or maple on the board. The neck on this one has some gorgeous subtle birds-eye grain running up and down the whole thing; it looks amazing. The slick satin finish and modern shape makes for a great feeling neck too, it's very agreeable. The top-loader bridge and maple board bring out the spanky, snarly, shimmering top end in the tone; it's super articulate with heaps of attack and presence. I'm on board for the black-on-black aesthetic too, it's equally at home with both ends of your cut: business at the front, party at the back.

Overall: minor finish wear. The headstock has minor scuffs on the end. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, no major marks. The back has some light scuffs near the neck joint and on the back edge near the rear strap pin, nothing nasty. The sides have no major marks, just some light scuffs on the bottom horn. The front has some light surface scratches up from the bridge and in the elbow area, as well as some standard play wear on the guard and horns. Overall: excellent condition (9/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. The frets have minor wear only, 9/10 for life left. Setup with fresh 10/46 Moonshiners strings.
