Gibson Les Paul Special Cherry 1995
Gibson LP Special. cherry, made in USA 1995. This guitar is perfectly punk. The mid 1990s was a good era for Gibson; they were making guitars to a very good standard consistently and they hold up well to this day. This is a great take on the Special, with the sturdy stoptail and tune-o-matic bridge, mini Grover tuners and a flat top slab body combing for a no-nonsense riffstick. The P-100 pickups are noiseless, which is a nice bonus given how much hum a standard soapbar pickup generates. The neck pickup is gooey and warm with a dark complexity, while the bridge position offers a snarly, creamy voice with abundant midrange kick. The finish has a few tales to tell, but it feels and sounds all the better for the miles on the clock. Special indeed.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has a couple of chips on the corners and some scuffs on the end, scuffs on both edges and back and some dimples and rub wear around the posts on the front. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, there's a bunch of dents and dimples and rub wear on the back, but it feels fine to play. The back has a dent on the top edge in the elbow area and a chip and dent on the bottom edge below the control cavity, as well as widespread minor scuffs around the whole body. The sides have minor dimples and scuffs around the whole body as well as a dent near the jack. The front has dimples around the back edge and near the knobs.
Overall: very good condition (8/10)
Playing condition notes: action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 10/52 Moonshiners strings.
Fret Life: 8/10, minor wear only
