Paul Reed Smith SE 245 Soapbar Tobacco Sunburst 2016
PRS SE 245 Soapbar, tobacco burst, made in Korea 2016. This is a nice thing, no doubt. These days, Paul's SE series is made by our friends in Indonesia, but for many years, they were made at the well renowned World Musical Instruments factory near Seoul in Korea. This one is a Korean example, and it's really beautifully made. The finish is exactly applied, the fretwork is excellent, and the little details like the bird inlays and maple binding are all skillfully done. No surprises, but: it feels good too: the neck is a comfy moderate C shape, the body is reasonably light and naturally resonant and all the hardware is very reliable. The soapbar pickups are fun: expansive, open high end, with plenty of sparkle and snap, paired with a fast punching bass and a wide, complex midrange. It traverses the lien between clean and dirty really nicely, responding with gusto to your right hand attack. If you're after a singlecut style electric and more concerned with quality and feel than what logo is on the headstock, this is surely an incredible amount of guitar for the cash. Nice one Pauly!

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has very minor scuffs on the bottom side and front around the posts. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor scuffs on the back only. The back has widespread light surface scratches and dimples around the whole body, but no major marks. The sides have dimples on the top horn and minor scuffs on the elbow area and near the jack. The front has minor scuffs around the bridge, knobs and elbow area and some play wear on the horns.
Overall: excellent condition (9/10)
Playing condition notes: action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 10/52 Moonshiners strings.
Fret Life: 9/10, minor wear only
