Squier MIJ Silver Series Stratocaster SST33 Sunburst 1992

Squier MIJ Silver Series Stratocaster SST33 Sunburst 1992

Squier SST33 Silver Series Strat, made in Japan in 1992 in sunburst. The Silver Series heralded a return to Japanese manufacturing for Squier, and were very well received at the time owing to the excellent build quality from the legendary Fujigen factory. This one is in great shape; there's a few little marks but for a guitar that shortly turns thirty, it's looking tip top. The neck is awesome: slim and round like a '62 style Strat, slick satin finish, arrow straight and featuring some gorgeous streaky ochre and choc rosewood; it feels terrific. The tone on these leaves some pretty expensive guitars feeling embarrassed: it punches so far above it's weight it's a little obscene. We love these around here and they never last long... you'll love it too.

Model: Squier Silver Series Stratocaster, SST33-M
Made: Japan, Fujigen plant, 1993-94 (serial L006793)
Finish: 3-tone sunburst, 1-ply white guard
Body: 'wood fibre', appears like basswood
Weight: 3.320kg
Neck: maple with maple board, 25.5" scale, 7.25" radius
Mods: back cover removed
Pickups: Fender Japan ST Single x3
Case: none

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. Headstock has some minor marks on the end. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, no major marks. The back has light scuffs and dimples, most notably on the belly carve and near the cavity cover. The sides have a few light scuffs in the elbow area, near the jack and on the bottom horn. The front is tidy, just widespread light scuffs and some play wear on the guard and top horn. Overall: very good condition (8/10)

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have a little normal wear, nothing nasty; 87/10 for fret life left. Wearing fresh 10/46 Moonshiners strings.
